Going Live with Auction

This guide walks you through how to set up and run a live auction using Apptile Live.

Devices Required

  • Desktop – Join as Moderator

  • Mobile (Apptile Live App) – Join as Host

How to Set Up a Live Auction

  1. Create Auction (Moderator)

    1. Log in to your Apptile Dashboard

    2. Navigate to Apptile Live

    3. Open the Apptile Live Broadcaster Dashboard

    4. Navigate to Auction

    5. Click Create Auction

  2. Enter Auction Details

    1. Title – Name of the auction (mandatory)

    2. Description – Add auction details (optional)

    3. Thumbnail – Upload auction image (mandatory)

  3. Set Auction Rules: These rules apply to each product in the auction:

    1. Bidding Duration – Time allowed for bidding per product.

    2. Minimum Bid Increment – Minimum increase in the bid amount for each new bid.

    3. Bidding Cap – Maximum amount for bid.

  4. Extended Bidding (Anti‑Sniping Settings)

    1. Trigger Time – If a bid is placed in the final seconds, this triggers an extension

    2. Extension Time – Extra time added when a last‑moment bid is placed

  5. Additional Settings

    1. Schedule Live Auction (Optional) – Set date and time

    2. Stream to Other Platforms (Optional) – Stream to multiple platforms

    3. Notify Users – Set notification content before going live. Please note that adding a topic and description is mandatory. The notification will be sent instantly, or at the stream scheduled time.

    4. Append Lot Number to Products – Add labels like Lot 1, Lot 2, to easily identify the products.

  6. Add Products

    1. Select products to include in the auction

    2. Click Create

How to Go Live with Auction

  1. Host (Mobile App)

    1. Log in to Apptile Live App

    2. Click on "Join as Host"

    3. Tap Shop Icon

    4. Select the product to start the auction (please note this will not start the bidding; only the moderator can start the bidding for the users)

      2. Click "Show" to change the product.

    5. Once the moderator starts bidding, you can follow the bids on screen

  2. Moderator (Desktop)

    1. Join as a Moderator from the Apptile Live Dashboard

    2. Click Bidding from the right-hand panel

    3. Click Start Bidding

    4. Monitor bids from the right-hand panel

    5. The auction ends automatically based on the rules.

    6. The winner is displayed on the screen

How Auction Works for Users

  1. Users join the live stream from the mobile app

  2. Once bidding starts, users will see two options:

    1. Bid Button

      1. Shows preset bid amount

      2. Users swipe to place bid

      3. Amount increases based on auction rules

    2. Custom Bid

      1. Users can enter their own bid amount

      2. Preset quick-bid options are also available

When the timer ends:

  1. Auction closes automatically.

  2. The winner is displayed on screen.

Best Practices

  • Add clear product descriptions

  • Start with lower opening bids to increase engagement

  • Keep bidding duration short for excitement

  • Announce products clearly during the live stream

  • Encourage users to bid actively
