These are the settings and steps needed to activate the App Install Banner theme app extension (app embed) for a merchant's Shopify store — this covers what merchants need in order to install, preview, and publish it in their theme.
Step 1 — Enable the Integration (Apptile Dashboard)
Go to the Integrations tab on the left panel.
Find App Install Banner and click View.
Click Connect and wait for the integration to be enabled.
Step 2 — Fill in the Required Banner Settings
App Store & Play Store links — Android: open Google Play Store, search for the app, tap the three-dot menu, Share, Copy link. iOS: open App Store, search for the app, tap Share, Copy Link.
App icon — upload the app icon shown on the banner.
Banner text — the message shown to visitors.
Button text (CTA) — the call-to-action label on the banner button.
Colors — banner background, text, and button colors, to match the storefront theme.
Placement — top or bottom for mobile; top-left, top-right, bottom-left, or bottom-right for desktop.
Step 3 — Activate the App Embed in the Theme (Deep Link)
Click Enable Smart Banner on the Apptile dashboard — this deep-links directly into the merchant's Shopify Theme Editor with the App Install Banner app embed ready to activate, so there's no manual hunting for it in theme settings.
In the Shopify Theme Editor, toggle the App Install Banner app embed on and click Save.
Return to the App Install Banner dashboard in Apptile and click Refresh to confirm it's connected.
Step 4 — Preview & Publish
Preview how the banner looks on mobile and desktop before going live.
Click Publish to make the banner visible on the storefront.
Note: the App Install Banner app embed works in any Shopify theme (not just Online Store 2.0), mobile and desktop banners can be enabled independently, and the banner can be disabled at any time from its settings in Apptile.
