These are the settings and steps needed to enable and configure Apptile Pre-Order across the Apptile Dashboard and Shopify.
Step 1 — Get Pre-Order Enabled
Pre-Order must be enabled from the backend before it can be used.
Contact support@apptile.com to have it enabled for the store.
Step 2 — Set Up Pre-Order (Apptile Dashboard)
Log in to the Apptile Dashboard.
Go to Integrations.
Click Manage on the Apptile Pre-Order block.
Choose who's on pre-order: Every product (customers can pre-order any out-of-stock product — can still be turned off for specific products/collections) or Only products I choose (pre-order stays off until you add products/collections). Then add the products and/or collections you want enabled using + Add products / + Add collections.
Step 3 — Enable the App Embed on the Storefront (Shopify Theme Editor)
In Shopify, go to Online Store → Themes → Customize.
Open the Product Details Page from the top breadcrumb.
Add the Apptile Pre order app embed to the theme and turn it on.
If the store is migrating from another app provider/builder that used a different button label (e.g. Add to Pre Order), update the label to Preauthorize Now under the Apptile Pre-order toggle so it matches the new flow.
Step 4 — Enable Shopify Flow & Cart Transformation
Part 1: Cart Transformation Rule
In Shopify Admin, go to Settings → Checkout and scroll to the bottom.
Click Add rule. Under the Apptile section, select Apptile Pre Order.
In the Name field, enter
Apptile Pre Order.Turn on Block checkout if app experiences a problem.
Change the status from Inactive to Active, then click Save.
Part 2: Pre-Order Automation in Shopify Flow
In Shopify Admin, search for Flow in apps and open it.
Click Create workflow → Browse templates.
Search for "pre order" and select Apptile Pre Order Automation, then click Install.
After installation, click Turn workflow on (top-right corner).
Step 5 — Additional Options (Apptile Dashboard)
View Orders — click View orders on Shopify to see all the pre-orders placed by customers.
Pre-Authorization Duration — set the number of days (default and max 90) a customer's payment authorization stays valid before the order is fulfilled, then click Update. This only applies to newly added pre-order items — items already in a customer's cart keep the duration that was active when they were added.
Best Practices
Enable pre-orders for products with high demand or upcoming launches to capture early interest
Set a reasonable pre-authorization duration that aligns with your expected fulfillment timeline
Regularly check View Orders to monitor pre-order volume and plan inventory accordingly
Communicate estimated delivery dates clearly so customers know what to expect
You're Ready
Once configured, customers will be able to place pre-orders for selected products directly from your app and storefront.
