The current settings and steps for enabling the PDP Video Tile on your Shopify product pages and choosing which clip shows on each product.
The PDP Video Tile is a floating, tappable picture-in-picture video that appears on your product detail pages. It plays the clip you have featured for that product and expands into a full-screen player with a seek bar, mute/unmute, and a close button when a shopper taps it.
Step 1 — Prerequisites
An active Apptile Live Selling account. Your clips are generated automatically from the live streams you run on Apptile Live Selling; the PDP Video Tile then surfaces those clips on your storefront.
The Apptile Shopify app installed on your store (so the theme extension is available in your theme editor).
At least one Shopify product with a featured clip attached (Step 3 below).
Your Streams Key (Step 2 below).
Step 2 — Copy Your Streams Key from the Apptile Dashboard
In your Apptile dashboard, open the Live section from the sidebar.
On the Live Overview page, find the "Add stream to your website" helper card and click See how.
In the modal that opens, your Streams Key is shown as a value like
brand-id-stream-id. Click the copy button next to it to copy it to your clipboard.Keep this tab open — you'll paste this key into the theme editor in Step 4.
Step 3 — Feature a Clip on a Product (Apptile Dashboard)
This is what tells the PDP Video Tile which clip to play on each product page. You pick the product first, then pick the clip.
In the Apptile dashboard sidebar, go to Live → Video Clips.
On the Video Clips page, use the product picker to search and select the Shopify product you want to feature a clip on.
You'll see every clip already associated with that product. On the clip you want shown on the storefront, click Feature Clip.
Confirm in the "Only 1 video clip can be featured per product" prompt. The clip now has a Featured badge, and any previously featured clip on that product is automatically demoted.
To change your mind, click Disable in the page header (this clears the current featured clip), or click Feature Clip on a different clip to replace it.
Auto-feature (optional): If your account has "Auto-feature new clips" enabled, every new clip generated from a stream is automatically featured on its product. You can turn this off per product with the Auto-feature new clips toggle on the Video Clips page.
Step 4 — Enable the App Embed on the Storefront (Shopify Theme Editor)
In your Shopify Admin, go to Online Store → Themes.
Next to your live theme, click Customize.
In the left rail of the theme editor, click App embeds (the puzzle-piece icon).
Find PDP Video Tile in the list and toggle it on.
Step 5 — Configure the Tile
With the embed toggled on, open its settings panel:
Streams Key — paste the value you copied in Step 2. Required; the tile will not render without it.
Start position — the corner the tile appears in on page load. Options: Top left, Top right, Bottom left, Bottom right. Default: Bottom right.
Autoplay — start the clip automatically. Default: on.
Start muted — mute audio on the initial autoplay. Default: off.
Loop clip — restart the clip when it finishes. Default: on.
Show on mobile — display the tile on mobile browsers. Default: on.
Click Save at the top right.
Step 6 — Verify
Open a product page on your live storefront for a product that has a featured clip.
The video tile should appear in the corner you chose, playing the featured clip for that product.
Tap the tile — it should expand into full-screen mode with playback controls.
Drag the tile around — it should snap to the nearest edge. Reloading the page returns it to the starting corner you configured.
Step 7 — Best Practices
Only products with a featured clip will show a tile. Products with no clips, or products where you clicked Disable, will render normally with no video — this is expected.
New clips generated from a live stream can take a few minutes to become available on the storefront while the video is processed.
If you keep Start muted off, some browsers will block autoplay with sound on the first page load. Leave Start muted on if you want reliable autoplay.
If you rebrand or change your Streams Key, update it in the app-embed settings — the old key will silently return no clips.
You're Ready
The PDP Video Tile is now live on your product pages. Any clip you feature from the Live → Video Clips page in your Apptile dashboard will show up automatically on that product's PDP.
