How a Vendor Goes Live Solo

Written by Sonali Bhardwaj

Vendors, brand partners, and guest hosts can run a live show on your store with their own login, without anyone from your team in the room. You set them up once as a team member. After that, any show you assign to them shows up on their own Apptile Live dashboard, ready to start.

Who does what

You (store owner or admin): add the vendor, build the product selection, create the show, and assign it to them. The vendor: logs in, joins as host, and runs the show.

Owner

Step 1: Add the vendor to your team

  1. From your Apptile dashboard, click Live in the left menu, then Open Live Dashboard. Live selling opens in a new tab.

  2. Go to Settings and open the Team tab. Everyone who already has a login is listed under People.

  3. Click Add person and enter the vendor's email, first and last name, and a password.

Apptile doesn't email the login to the vendor. Share the email and password with them yourself.

  4. Under What they can do, pick the vendor's permissions. For a vendor who only hosts the shows you set up, these two are enough:

    • Host shows: start, run, and end a show, and show products while live.

    • See stock: see stock counts and sold-out items during the show.

  5. Click Add person. The vendor now appears in the People list with their permissions shown under their name.

Letting a vendor create their own shows

If the vendor should set up and start shows entirely on their own, also tick Create and edit shows. Leave See all shows off, so they only see shows that were assigned to them or that they created themselves. You can change permissions any time with Edit access.

Step 2: Put the vendor's products into a selection

A selection is a named group of products you can add to a show in one click. It doesn't appear on your app's homepage.

  1. In your Apptile dashboard, open Product Assist.

  2. Tick the products the vendor will sell. Use Filters or search to find them faster.

  3. Click Push to live, type a Group name (for example, the vendor's name and the show date), and click Push.

Step 3: Create the show and assign it to the vendor

  1. Back on the Apptile Live dashboard, click Create stream.

  2. Apptile Live home with the Create stream and Schedule for later buttons.

  3. Give the show a title. Under Products, click the search box. Your selection is listed under Selections. Click + Add all, then Done.

  4. Create livestream screen with the product search open, showing a selection with an Add all link.

  5. In the right-hand panel, open Assigned to and choose the vendor under People.

  6. Assigned to panel with the vendor ticked in the People list.

  7. Set Go live on, Notify followers, and Returns for items bought in this show as you normally would.

  8. Click Create in the top-right corner. You'll see Stream created successfully, and the show appears on your dashboard as Scheduled. It doesn't start until the vendor joins as host.

  9. Apptile Live home showing the new show with a Scheduled label and Join as Host and Join as Moderator buttons.

Step 4: The vendor logs in and goes live

Send the vendor these steps along with their login.

  1. Open app.apptile.io/live-selling/login in Chrome on a laptop or desktop.

  2. Enter the email and password from your store, then click Login.

  3. Their dashboard only shows what they have access to. The show assigned to them is listed with a Join as Host button.

  4. Click Join as Host and allow camera and microphone access when the browser asks. The show goes LIVE.

  5. During the show, the vendor can:

    1. Click Show next to a product to feature it. The featured product is marked Showing.

    2. Read and reply to Live chat from every connected platform in one place.

    3. Watch the Activity feed for sales made during the session.

    4. Live studio with the product list on the left, the camera preview in the middle, and live chat on the right

  6. When they're done, the vendor clicks End stream.

Good to know

  • Only the store owner can see Settings and the Team tab. Vendors can't add people or change your store settings unless you give them those permissions.

  • Without Search all products, a vendor can only feature products in the show's selection, so they can't accidentally show the rest of your catalog.

  • If a vendor forgets their password, use Reset password next to their name.

  • To revoke access, click Remove access.

  • You can still join any assigned show yourself with Join as Moderator to help with chat or products.
