Introduction to Pre Order

Pre-orders have become a popular strategy in e-commerce, allowing customers to reserve and purchase products before they are officially released or restocked. This functionality can be particularly valuable for generating excitement for new products and ensuring customers don't miss out on highly anticipated items. Integrating pre-order functionality with your Apptile mobile app offers several advantages for both businesses and customers.

Why Apptile + Pre Orders?

Integrating pre-order functionality with your Apptile mobile app offers several benefits:

  • Increased Sales and Revenue: Pre-orders allow businesses to collect payments upfront, potentially boosting cash flow and gauging early demand for upcoming products.

  • Improved Inventory Management: By understanding pre-order volume, businesses can make more informed decisions about inventory levels and potentially avoid stockouts.

  • Reduced Order Cancellations: Customers who pre-order are more likely to complete their purchases compared to those waiting for launch day, leading to fewer cancellations.

Faced some bugs while setting it up on shopif

We recommend using the PreProduct plugin as we have encountered some bugs from the ‘Pre Order WOD’ while setting it up.

User Experience

1. Product Display Page (PDP):

  • Selling Plan Visibility: Users will see the available selling plans for a product directly on the PDP.

  • Pre-Order CTA: The "Add to Cart" button will be replaced with a clear pre-order call to action (CTA), such as "Pre-Order Now" or "Reserve Now."

2. Cart Management:

  • Pre-Order Label: Upon adding a pre-order item to the cart, the corresponding product card will display a clear "Pre-Order" label. This visually distinguishes pre-order items from in-stock products.

  • Cart Total: The cart total will accurately reflect the pre-order price based on the chosen selling plan along with the expected shipping date (if applicable).

3. Seamless Checkout Flow:

The checkout flow will be intuitive and integrate seamlessly with the pre-order functionality. It will involve:

  • Handling pre-order payments as defined by the chosen pre-order integration (full payment upfront, deposit, etc.).

  • Showing the expected date of shipment of the product, and when the user will be charged for the order. (if applicable)

  • Providing order confirmation emails with estimated delivery dates (if applicable).

By following these steps, you'll be able to leverage Pre Product to create a seamless pre-order experience for your customers with Apptile!
